Howard is an artist/educator and a long-term resident of Brooklyn, NY with a BFA from Suny-Purchase and an MFA from CUNY-Queens College. He instructs college students of Brooklyn and Newark in studio arts and art survey.

 

He is a Mozaik foundation and Puffin grantee and his art project, the Anna Pierrepont Series, was exhibited in the 2026 exhibition, 'Democracy Jenga' at Puffin Brooklyn and a two person exhibition 'Chaotic Memory' in 2024 at the Kirkland Art Center in Clinton, NY.

 

The series was also the subject of a solo exhibition entitled ‘Monumental Follies’ at the Fairfield University Art Museum in 2020. Group exhibitions include SECAC 2023 in Richmond, Va., ‘Who Writes History’ at ArtsWestchester in 2022, ‘Darkest Before Dawn’ at Kube Beacon in 2022, ‘!!PUBLIC ART???’ at Ramapo College in 2019, 'Public Discourse' at the Riverview Art Center in Lynchburg, Va in 2019 and others.

 

Works from the series have graced the covers of seven magazines, most prominently Carolina Quarterly in Winter 2021. Pictorial essays such as ‘Robert E. Lee and the New Iconoclasm’ have been published in Jugaad Projects in Spring 2023, 'Death Wish' in Slag Glass City in 2020 and ‘Erasure’ in Newfound Journal in 2015. Magazine surveys such as ‘Letter to America' in Arterrain in 2021 have also been published.

 

Residencies include Mother's Milk in Newton, Kansas in 2025, Kunstram in Brooklyn in 2023 and virtually at Mango International (twice) and Hole in the Wall Collective.Howard advocates for rights of adjunct faculty as a labor leader and is in leadership roles at two NYC artist collectives.
